Klaus Langenbach, President
Klaus Langenbach, founded in 1974 his Kennel “Vom Geisterholz” for German Shepherd Dogs in
Germany. This Kennel moved to Florida and so did its owner.  In 2004 he finally made up his mind
and decided that Florida will be his “Retirement” home. Klaus did not retire in Florida. He brought
with him his wonderful  bitch “Jane vom Kristallsee” . Since 2004 he had a few litters with Jane.  
But Klaus is not “just” a breeder.   He has a lot of experience with German Shepherd Dogs in
training and behavior as well. And Klaus did all the footwork which needed to be done to get
GSSCSWFl started.

Paula Brock,  Secretary
Paula Brock resides in Naples, FL and joined the GSSCSWF after meeting Klaus Langenbach and
adopting a puppy from one of his litters.  Samantha ("Sammi") is enjoying the puppy training so
much that she can hardly wait to get in the car on Sunday mornings!  Paula has a Bachelor's
degree in Industrial Management & Industrial Engineering from Purdue University, an MBA from the
University of Notre Dame, and she currently works for the Collier County school district

Jim Wilson,  Sergant of Arms
Jim lives in Florida all his life,  He loves classic Volkswagens and everybody in the Volkswagen
World knows him as the "Bughwisperer". His private mission is to find good homes for almost
every creature Monika picks up in vacant properties she shows. But his real love are the two
German Shepherds in his family and their 17 year old rescued Golden Retriever/Collie Mix.  For
living he does Bush Hog and Lot Mowing work for residential and commercial properties. Phone:

Gerard Thanhoffer, Vice President, Breed Warden
Gerard and Cigdem came to South West Florida a few years ago, here they opened up a branch of
their Vom Steinhauerberg Kennel. Gerard was Dog Handler for the Swiss Police Department for
almost 10 years, since 1987 he is also character judge for German Shepherd Dogs, his dogs won
several top awards in national and international German Shepherd Shows and Events. Geri is a

Jon Thomforde, Training Director
Jon Thornforde lives in Southwest Florida with Andrea and their little Daughter. He is a great
support for our Trainers, he is very good in handling all different dogs. He is a very strong and
upcoming Dog Handler, very knowledgeable of the animals and willing to learn more. Jon is a
researcher for the farming industry.  He is a great Team Player, and is only  a few Dogs away to

Monica Griffith, Treasurer
Monica is a Florida native and a former law enforcement officer who has many years experience in
training K9's. Her accomplishments include obedience instructor and behavior modification
specialist, Founder/President of Heartland Doberman Rescue, Founder/President for Highlands
K9 Search & Rescue Team, Inc., Secretary for the Florida Police Work Dog Association, Boarding
Kennel owner/operator, implemented Highlands County 4-H dog program, titled dogs in AKC,
